₹20 Lakh Compensation Handed Over to Family of Farmer Killed in Wild Boar Attack in Bhalki Taluk

District In-charge Minister and Minister for Forest, Ecology, and Environment Eshwar Khandre visited Anandwadi village in Bhalki taluk on Monday, September 7, to present a compensation cheque of ₹20 lakh to the grieving family of farmer Channabasappa Bhure. The farmer had sustained severe injuries in a wild boar attack while working on his land and later passed away while undergoing medical treatment. During his visit to the victim’s home, Minister Khandre expressed deep grief over the tragic incident and offered personal condolences to the family members. Handing over the government ex-gratia sanctioned through the Forest Department, the Minister remarked that while financial relief cannot compensate for the loss of a human life, it serves as crucial support from the state during such distress. In response to the increasing encounters between wild animals and humans in rural areas across Bhalki taluk, Minister Khandre instructed senior forest officials, including Chief Conservator of Forests Vasant Reddy and Deputy Conservator of Forests Sumit Patil, to take immediate precautionary measures. He directed department personnel to intensify patrolling, control wild animal movement near agricultural fields, and prioritize the safety of farmers working in border villages.
