Bengaluru Police Deport 31 Illegal Immigrants to West Bengal Under Operation Muktha

In a continuous effort to curb illegal immigration within Bengaluru Urban district, the Bengaluru City Police dispatched 31 Bangladeshi nationals from Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) in Baiyappanahalli to Malda Railway Station in West Bengal on August 31. The individuals, who had been apprehended by officers from ten different police stations across the city, are being transported under a 20-member police escort to complete their official deportation process. This enforcement action was executed under 'Operation Muktha', a special initiative initiated by the Bengaluru City Police to track, identify, and process undocumented foreign nationals staying unlawfully in various parts of the city. According to M. Narayana, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Electronics City), the police department has intensified document verification drives in areas housing large populations of migrant labor, construction sites, and industrial hubs across Bengaluru Urban district. Officials stated that the multi-station operation reflects a coordinated city-wide drive to enforce immigration laws and address safety and administrative concerns. The police department confirmed that similar drives will continue across all divisions in Bengaluru Urban to detect undocumented foreign nationals and ensure appropriate legal proceedings and deportation.
