Bengaluru Police Rescue Over 100 Children in Citywide Anti-Child Labour Operation

Bengaluru City Police launched a major crackdown on child labour across the city, resulting in the rescue of over 100 children illegally employed in various commercial establishments, garages, and shops. The coordinated operations were carried out by special police teams from the East and Northeast divisions under the direct instructions of City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh. During the enforcement drive, police teams inspected multiple suspected premises across Bengaluru and neighbouring areas including Nelamangala. Officials identified minors working under hazardous and unregulated conditions, violating child protection laws. In Nelamangala rural limits, a dedicated police team led by senior officers conducted targeted raids following specific intelligence inputs. The rescued children were placed in safe custody and handed over to child welfare authorities for immediate care and rehabilitation. Senior police officials confirmed that detailed inquiries are underway and strict legal action will be initiated against the owners and managers of the establishments found employing minors. Police emphasized that eliminating child labour requires active public cooperation and community vigilance to safeguard children's fundamental rights to education and safety.
