The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a 10-day foot march titled 'Ballari Chalo' from Lingasugur taluk in Raichur district. Led by BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra and senior party leaders including former Chief Ministers B.S. Yediyurappa, Basavaraj Bommai, and Jagadish Shettar, the padayatra aims to highlight alleged administrative failures and financial irregularities in state welfare corporations.
Addressing a massive public gathering in Lingasugur before setting off on the march, B.S. Yediyurappa criticized the ruling state government for anti-farmer policies and governance lapses in Kalyana Karnataka. The padayatra traversed through several taluks of Raichur district, including Sindhanur, attracting local party workers and residents along the state highway route before entering neighboring Koppal district.
Local political analysts note that launching the foot march from Raichur district holds strategic political importance in the Kalyana Karnataka region. The march has mobilized local political activity across Lingasugur, Sindhanur, and Raichur, generating widespread public discussion regarding agricultural support, regional development, and government accountability.
