Dalit and Kannada Outfits Protest Demanding Suspension of Bilagi Morarji Desai Residential School Officers

Members of various Dalit and Kannada organizations under a joint forum held a major protest in front of the District Administrative Complex in Navanagar, Bagalkote, demanding urgent administrative action regarding the Morarji Desai Residential School located in Bilagi taluk. The protesters submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate suspension of the residential school's principal, N.A. Biradar, and hostel warden, N.R. Kuddar, accusing them of gross negligence in managing student welfare. According to the demonstrators, students residing in the Bilagi Morarji Desai Residential School are being served substandard and unnutritious food, posing serious health risks to the children. Furthermore, the residential campus suffers from severe deficiencies in civic infrastructure, including unhygienic toilet facilities and inadequate living arrangements. Demonstrators raised slogans against the school administration, alleging that official indifference is endangering the wellbeing and academic future of rural students in the taluk. The memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Bagalkote requested a comprehensive investigation into the mismanagement of the residential school and strict disciplinary proceedings against the responsible personnel. Local activists urged senior officers of the Social Welfare Department and district administration to conduct an immediate inspection of the Bilagi school premises to enforce strict quality standards for food, hygiene, and basic civic amenities for all resident students.
