In an initiative aimed at encouraging children from rural backgrounds to pursue quality education, learning kits including school bags and shoes were distributed to students of the Government Lower Primary School in Maligenahalli village, Devanahalli taluk. The distribution drive was organized and led by Maligenahalli Venkatesh Murthy, President of the Taluk JDS ST Wing, who handed over the essential supplies to the primary school children.
Addressing the students, teachers, and local residents at the school campus, Venkatesh Murthy highlighted that government primary schools in Devanahalli taluk are well-equipped with good infrastructure and qualified teaching staff, standing on par with private educational institutions. He emphasized that providing basic necessities like footwear and bags eases the financial burden on underprivileged families and motivates children to attend school regularly. He also advised students to limit their time spent on television and mobile phones, encouraging them to focus more on academics and skill development.
The event saw active participation from community members, local political leaders, and school staff. Dignitaries present included former Panchayat members Ramanna and Pradeep, former VSSN president Muniyappa, BJP leader Muninarayanappa, youth leader Marappa, Headmistress Susheela, and co-teacher Suma. Local residents commended the gesture, noting its positive impact on student attendance and morale in the village school.
