Five Fishermen Rescued After Fishing Boat Sinks Near Ullal Estuary

A fishing boat capsized and sank after getting caught in powerful sea waves near the Ullal estuary on Tuesday evening. The boat, owned by Shareef Alakal, had set out for routine fishing with five fishermen on board. Shortly after entering the sea, turbulent waves battered the vessel, causing it to fill with water and submerge. Surrounding fishermen aboard another nearby vessel responded rapidly upon noticing the incident and managed to safely rescue all five stranded crew members before the boat sank. No loss of life or injuries were reported, though the vessel and onboard equipment suffered extensive damage. Following the rescue, boat owner Shareef lodged a formal complaint with the Ullal police station detailing the substantial financial loss incurred in the incident.
