A tragic head-on collision between two motor vehicles at Godegere Gate in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumakuru district resulted in four fatalities on Friday night. The incident occurred when one of the vehicles traveling along the arterial road lost control near the junction and collided with an oncoming vehicle. Four occupants, including residents of Turuvekere and Chikkanayakanahalli taluks, succumbed to critical injuries at the site before emergency services could transfer them to medical care. Two other passengers who sustained injuries were rushed to a nearby district hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Chikkanayakanahalli police personnel quickly arrived at the crash site to clear the damaged vehicles, restore vehicular movement on the highway, and document the scene. Local authorities have registered a case regarding the incident and initiated an investigation into speed levels, road visibility, and traffic signage at Godegere Gate.
