Karnataka has approved 83 investment proposals worth more than Rs 6,252 crore, giving fresh momentum to the state government's 'Beyond Bengaluru' initiative.
Of those, 69 projects are located outside Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts. Together the approved investments are expected to generate more than 30,000 new jobs.
'Beyond Bengaluru' is the government's effort to spread investment, industry and employment across Karnataka's districts rather than concentrating economic activity in and around the capital. Directing a clear majority of newly cleared projects to other districts is among the more substantial steps taken under the policy so far.
The approvals sit alongside a wider infrastructure programme. The state has announced a Rs 1.5 lakh crore infrastructure push aimed at growth beyond the Bengaluru metropolitan region, while the 2026 state budget carried a significant infrastructure allocation for Bengaluru itself — leaving the government balancing investment in the capital's strained infrastructure against its stated goal of dispersing growth.
