Krones, a global leader in beverage and liquid-food processing and packaging technology, has officially opened its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Vemagal Industrial Area in Karnataka's Kolar district. The plant, established with an investment of ₹315 crore (approximately US$37.7 million), marks a significant boost to the state's industrial landscape and is expected to generate around 400 direct employment opportunities.
Karnataka's Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, inaugurated the facility on August 19, 2026, highlighting the government's commitment to fostering an investor-friendly environment. The project received government approval in October 2024, with the groundbreaking ceremony taking place in February 2025. The impressive completion within 18 months showcases the efficiency of project execution in the state.
The new plant, spread across 16,000 square meters on a 30-acre site, will manufacture high-quality ErgoBloc packaging systems and other advanced machinery for various types of bottles for the Indian market. It is also designed to produce machines capable of manufacturing up to 100,000 Coca-Cola-type bottles per hour. This expansion further strengthens Krones' presence in India and reinforces Karnataka's position as a prominent manufacturing hub in South Asia.
