Lack of Basic Amenities at Ramadurga's Old Bus Stand Sparks Anger Among Commuters and Students

Daily commuters and students traveling to schools and colleges from rural parts of Ramadurga taluk in Belagavi district are facing severe inconvenience due to the deplorable state of the old bus stand in Ramadurga town. Despite being a crucial transit hub for thousands of passengers every day, the bus station lacks basic public amenities, including safe drinking water and proper sanitation. The drinking water unit set up on the bus station premises has remained locked and out of service for months. Surrounding tap fixtures are broken, leading to stagnant water and foul odors. Passengers, especially children and senior citizens, are forced to endure harsh weather conditions while waiting for buses without access to basic facilities. While local political leaders, including Ramadurga MLA Ashok Pattan, have made assurances regarding the construction of a new hi-tech bus station, residents express deep frustration over the neglect of the current operational terminal. Commuters and student groups have demanded that North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) officials and local administrative authorities take immediate corrective action to restore water supply, maintain cleanliness, and provide basic amenities to ensure passenger safety and convenience.
