Mudalgi Teacher Basappa Parappa Patil Selected for Karnataka State Best Teacher Award 2026

Basappa Parappa Patil, a dedicated educator serving at the Government Higher Primary School (KHPS) Hallur Cross under the Mudalgi education zone in Belagavi district, has been selected for the prestigious Karnataka State Level Best Teacher Award for the academic year 2026–27. The announcement was made by the Department of School Education and Literacy ahead of Teachers' Day celebrations. The honor comes as part of the annual state teacher awards under the Savitribai Phule Award category, which recognize exceptional service and commitment to primary and secondary education across Karnataka. Patil was selected among 20 primary school teachers state-wide for his commendable contributions to teaching, school development, and student welfare in rural Mudalgi. Each selected teacher receives a cash prize of ₹25,000, a commendation certificate, and official felicitation. The award was conferred at a state-level Teachers' Day event organized at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on September 5, 2026, by Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa.
