Suriya and Mamitha Baiju's Hit Film 'Vishwanath and Sons' Sets Digital Release Date on Netflix

Streaming platform Netflix has officially announced that the critically acclaimed hit Tamil family drama 'Vishwanath and Sons' will premiere on its service on September 11, 2026. Directed by Venky Atluri, the movie stars South Indian superstar Suriya alongside Mamitha Baiju in lead roles. The film will be accessible to global subscribers across five major languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. The announcement puts an end to speculation regarding the digital launch schedule, which previously suggested mid-September dates. 'Vishwanath and Sons' earned significant praise during its theatrical run for combining lighthearted humor with poignant emotional themes surrounding familial responsibilities, intergenerational relationships, and personal values. Industry observers note that the rapid transition from theatrical distribution to OTT streaming reflects the evolving release strategies of major South Indian productions aiming to capture broader global audiences. The multilingual streaming release is expected to drive substantial viewership across both domestic and international markets.
