Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Shobha Karandlaje on September 10, 2026, inaugurated a state-of-the-art MSME Technology Centre at Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district. Constructed with an investment of ₹156 crore over 10 acres provided by the Karnataka government, the facility is designed to enhance technical infrastructure, skill development, and market competitiveness for small enterprises, particularly in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and aerospace sectors.
The new technology center is equipped with advanced machinery and specialized laboratories, including Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) assembly lines, 5-axis CNC machines, additive manufacturing (3D printing) equipment, and precision testing labs. These high-end manufacturing tools will be accessible to local micro and small businesses that cannot afford individual capital investments. Furthermore, the center plans to train approximately 10,000 youth and technical professionals annually to meet growing industry demand. Speaking at the launch, Karandlaje announced that the Ministry of MSME will establish its next technology center in Belagavi with an investment of ₹178 crore.
