Four Killed and Five Injured in Fatal Two-Car Collision Near Godekere Gate in Chikkanayakanahalli

A devastating head-on collision between two cars near Godekere Gate in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk resulted in four fatalities and left five others severely injured. The tragic accident occurred on the highway route connecting Chikkanayakanahalli and K.B. Cross when a car traveling from Bengaluru toward Chikkanayakanahalli collided with another vehicle heading toward Turuvekere. Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that one of the vehicles lost control while attempting a high-speed overtake, drifting onto the wrong side of the road before impacting the oncoming vehicle. Among the deceased were two residents of Chikkanayakanahalli town, Vivek (31) and Anil (32), alongside Dawood Pasha (38) and his three-year-old daughter Anam Pasha from Turuvekere. Five injured passengers were immediately rushed to the Tumakuru District Government Hospital for medical treatment. Following the collision, vehicular traffic along the busy arterial route was disrupted for nearly an hour before emergency personnel cleared the damaged vehicles. Officials from the Chikkanayakanahalli Police Station registered a case and initiated a formal probe into the incident. Local residents have frequently raised concerns over reckless overtaking and speeding near key junctions on this stretch, calling on transport and civic authorities to install speed breakers and warning signboards to prevent further accidents.
