Qualcomm Selects 15 APAC Startups for 2026 AI Innovator Program to Boost Edge AI Development

Qualcomm Technologies recently unveiled the selection of 15 pioneering artificial intelligence (AI) startups from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for its esteemed Qualcomm AI Program for Innovators (QAIPI) 2026. This strategic initiative is designed to nurture the growth of emerging companies in Japan, Singapore, and South Korea, which are at the forefront of developing next-generation edge AI solutions. The program provides comprehensive support to these startups, including invaluable equity-free mentorship from Qualcomm's subject matter experts. Participants also gain access to cutting-edge hardware development platforms, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon® and Dragonwing™ products, crucial for building advanced AI applications. Beyond technical resources, the QAIPI 2026 offers financial incentives, with grants of up to US$10,000 upon successful completion of the program, and eligibility for patent filing incentives up to US$5,000, promoting the creation and protection of intellectual property. The selected startups are engaged in developing diverse AI solutions spanning critical sectors like aerospace, agriculture, drones, healthcare, robotics, smart infrastructure, and smart industries. A key focus is "on-device AI," which promises advancements in data privacy, reduced latency for real-time responses, and improved power efficiency, extending battery life for various devices. By empowering these early-stage ventures, Qualcomm aims to accelerate the transition of innovative AI prototypes into scalable, commercially viable products, thereby strengthening the APAC startup ecosystem and driving global AI advancements. The program will culminate in a Demo Day later this year, where these innovators will present their solutions to industry leaders and potential investors.
