Samsung Unveils 2027 Odyssey Gaming Monitor Lineup at Gamescom 2026

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup during Gamescom 2026, the world's largest gaming event held in Cologne, Germany. The tech major highlighted next-generation visual technologies aimed at high-performance competitive gaming and immersive entertainment, expanding its market-leading display ecosystem. The centerpiece of the announcement includes the flagship 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ model) and the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ model). Both models incorporate fifth-generation Penta Tandem QD-OLED panels with an RGB-stripe subpixel structure, delivering up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness and significantly enhanced panel longevity. Notably, the Odyssey OLED G9 offers Dual QHD resolution at a 360Hz refresh rate, with a dual-mode option enabling up to 720Hz at Dual HD resolution for ultra-fast esports play. Meanwhile, the Odyssey OLED G8 features a triple-mode capability, allowing players to dynamically switch between 4K at 360Hz, QHD at 520Hz, and Full HD at 680Hz. In addition to the premium OLED models, Samsung introduced the 42-inch curved Odyssey OLED G7 and the 27-inch Odyssey G6, the latter boasting a staggering refresh rate of up to 1,100Hz in HD mode. Samsung also announced an expanded partnership with Activision Blizzard to integrate HDR10+ GAMING technology into upcoming major video game releases.
