Supreme Court Collegium Approves Elevation of Three Judicial Officers as Karnataka High Court Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by the Chief Justice of India, has approved the recommendation for the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the High Court of Karnataka. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Collegium held on September 10, 2026. The judicial officers approved for elevation to the High Court bench are Smt. Usharani, Shri K.S. Bharath Kumar, and Smt. Nerale Veerabhadraiah Bhavani. With these three recommendations, the strength of judges in the High Court of Karnataka will move closer to its sanctioned capacity of 62 judges. The Collegium's recommendation will now be processed by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice for official notification and appointment by the President of India.
