Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Launches 'OneTag' FASTag Portability Solution at Global Fintech Fest

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari launched 'OneTag', a NETC FASTag portability solution, during the 7th Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 held in Mumbai. The new feature marks a major upgrade in India's National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) framework by enabling motorists to switch their FASTag issuer bank while retaining the existing physical tag affixed to their vehicle windshield. Developed in coordination with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), OneTag eliminates the hassle and added cost of purchasing a new physical toll sticker whenever a user wishes to switch service providers. By providing freedom of bank choice and seamless interoperability, the government aims to enhance user convenience, reduce electronic toll collection disputes, and promote healthy competition among issuing banks across the national highway toll network.
