106 Couples Tie the Knot in Bagepalli Mass Marriage; Gifted Cows for Livelihood

BAGEPALLI: In a major social and cultural event in Bagepalli taluk of Chikkaballapur district, the 23rd annual free mass marriage ceremony organized by the S.N. Charitable Trust was held near the historic Gadidam Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swamy Temple. A total of 106 couples tied the knot during the grand event, which was also accompanied by the Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Kalyanotsava performed by priests from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). To ensure that the newly married couples establish stable livelihoods without falling into debt, local MLA S.N. Subbareddy presented each couple with a dairy cow alongside ₹50,000 in monetary assistance. The trust laid down a condition that couples must formally register their marriage at the Sub-Registrar's office to receive these benefits, promoting official marriage registration across rural areas. The event drew key leaders and public figures, including Food and Civil Supplies Minister K.H. Muniyappa, BAMUL President and former MP D.K. Suresh, Bangarapet MLA S.N. Narayanaswamy, former Minister N.H. Shivashankara Reddy, and former MLA N. Sampangi. Over its 23-year history, the trust's initiative has helped thousands of families from economically weaker backgrounds in Bagepalli taluk celebrate weddings without financial stress.
