21 Educators Honoured With District Best Teacher Award in Dakshina Kannada on Teachers' Day

Twenty-one schoolteachers from across Dakshina Kannada district were presented with the district-level Best Teacher Award during the national Teachers' Day celebrations held at Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall in Mangaluru on September 5, 2026. The event was organized jointly by the Dakshina Kannada district administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Department of School Education and Literacy. State Minister for Health and Family Welfare and District In-charge Minister U.T. Khader inaugurated the ceremony and presented the awards to the selected educators. The awardees comprised seven teachers from lower primary schools, seven from higher primary schools, and seven from high schools across various taluks of the district. The recipients were chosen for their contributions to innovative teaching methods, classroom engagement, and overall student development. Addressing the gathering, Minister U.T. Khader emphasized that value-based education is essential for building a responsible society. He stated that education should go beyond acquiring degrees to instill moral conduct, urging teachers to continuously upgrade their skills and adapt to advancing technologies, including artificial intelligence. Legislative Council member Ivan D'Souza, MUDA Chairman Santosh Shetty, and senior district education officers were present during the felicitation program.
