Director Srini Sets October Release Date for 'Birbal Case 2', Expanding Cinematic Universe

KVN Productions and actor-director Srini have officially announced the release date for 'Birbal Trilogy Case 2', the long-awaited sequel to the 2019 Kannada investigative hit 'Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni'. The courtroom thriller is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 23, 2026, with its first official teaser set to be unveiled on September 27. Srini reprises his lead role as lawyer Mahesh Das, who takes on a complex new murder mystery. The sequel marks a significant expansion of the Srini Cinematic Universe, connecting directly with his action-thriller 'Ghost' through a special crossover appearance by Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar. In addition to expanding its narrative universe, the film brings veteran actor Khushbu Sundar back to Sandalwood in a pivotal role, alongside Daisy Bopanna, who makes her comeback to the silver screen after a lengthy hiatus. Debutant Yogalakshmi plays the female lead, while Sampath Raj joins the supporting cast. With music composed by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Mahendra Simha, 'Birbal Case 2' represents a major commercial effort for Sandalwood in late 2026. The announcement has generated strong anticipation among Kannada film enthusiasts who have been waiting for the continuation of the popular legal franchise.
