IIT Madras Opens Registration for School Connect Program October Cohort, Expands to Class 9 Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has officially thrown open applications for the October 2026 batch of its flagship 'School Connect' initiative. Implemented through the Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), the program offers high school students early exposure to emerging academic disciplines to help them make informed choices regarding higher education streams and career pathways. In a significant expansion this year, IIT Madras has extended eligibility to include Class 9 students for the first time, alongside students from Classes 10, 11, and 12. The eight-week online program features 17 specialized disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Cybersecurity, Aerospace Engineering, Law, Product Design, Economics, and Financial Mathematics. Courses are structured with pre-recorded lectures, interactive live sessions, assignments, and online assessments. To broaden accessibility across diverse regions, modules are available in English and Hindi, with plans underway to launch them in seven regional Indian languages. School principals and administrators can partner with the initiative to onboard their students before the application window closes on September 30, 2026. Students who successfully fulfill course requirements will receive an official e-certificate from IIT Madras CODE.
