Karnataka FDA Raids Unlicensed E-Commerce Storage Unit in Devanahalli, Seizes Medicines Worth ₹1.57 Lakh

In a targeted enforcement action against the illegal storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals, the Drugs Enforcement Wing of the Karnataka Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) raided an unlicensed e-commerce warehouse facility located in the Aerospace Park at Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district. The inspection was led by Bengaluru Rural Drugs Inspector Vibha, based on specific intelligence regarding major compliance and licensing violations. Officials found that M/s Amazon Seller Services Pvt. Ltd. was storing pharmaceutical products at the Devanahalli facility without holding a valid drug license required under statutory regulations. During the operation, authorities seized stockpiled medicines valued at ₹1,57,000. This raid was conducted simultaneously with a similar operation in Anekal taluk, resulting in a combined seizure of pharmaceuticals worth ₹4.02 lakh across both sites. The FDA stated that the crackdown was intended to prevent the unauthorized distribution of medicines and to ensure strict adherence to pharmaceutical licensing laws. For residents and local consumers in Devanahalli, the regulatory enforcement highlights increasing governmental oversight over online retail fulfillment hubs operating in the industrial and aerospace corridors near Kempegowda International Airport. Officials emphasized that unlicensed pharmaceutical storage poses significant public health risks, and further legal actions will follow to ensure consumer safety and compliance across e-commerce logistics centers.
