Kulgoda Police Unravel Month-Old Missing Woman Murder Mystery in Mudalgi Taluk

The Kulgoda police in Mudalgi taluk of Belagavi district have resolved the month-old mysterious disappearance of a 34-year-old woman, confirming that she was murdered and her body concealed in an agricultural patch. The deceased has been identified as Annapurna Siddappa Odachannavar (34), a native of Tigadi village who was residing in Kaujalgi village located within Mudalgi taluk. Annapurna had gone missing approximately one month ago, following which her family lodged a missing person complaint at the Kulgoda police station. Investigating officers traced multiple leads and identified Dilip Gadkari (37), a resident of Shimlapur in neighbouring Gokak taluk, as a prime person of interest. After learning about the police scrutiny, the suspect fled his village, but law enforcement teams tracked him down and took him into custody for questioning. During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing Annapurna and abandoning her body in a sugarcane field near Kaujalgi village. He also admitted to removing gold jewellery from the victim. Acting on the confession, police teams searched the specified sugarcane field, recovering decomposed remains and personal articles. Senior officials, including the Belagavi District Superintendent of Police, visited the scene to inspect the site. Further investigation is underway at Kulgoda police station.
