Mangaluru to Host Karnataka State Cabinet Meeting on September 18 as Preparations Begin

In a significant political and administrative development for coastal Karnataka, the Karnataka state cabinet will hold its decision-making meeting in Mangaluru on September 18. District In-charge Minister U.T. Khader, along with senior administration officials, recently inspected Praja Soudha, the Deputy Commissioner's office complex at Padil, to review logistics and security arrangements for the high-level event. This marks the first time that the state cabinet is convening in the coastal port city. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar requested that the meeting take place within a key government facility, leading officials to select the modern Padil complex. The meeting will bring together the Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, advisors, the Finance Secretary, and key department heads to deliberate on regional requirements. Government leaders are consulting local legislators and civic stakeholders to compile a detailed roster of coastal development proposals, including policies on sand mining, infrastructure investments, and tourism initiatives like the proposed Malnad Tourism Corporation. The coastal cabinet meet is expected to provide state leadership with a direct understanding of Dakshina Kannada's administrative and economic priorities.
