Qualcomm Technologies recently announced the selection of 15 innovative artificial intelligence (AI) startups from across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for its prestigious Qualcomm AI Program for Innovators (QAIPI) 2026. This initiative is designed to foster the growth of emerging companies in Japan, Singapore, and South Korea that are pioneering next-generation edge AI solutions. The selected startups are developing diverse AI solutions that span critical sectors, including aerospace, agriculture, drones, healthcare, robotics, smart infrastructure, and smart industries. A strong emphasis is placed on "on-device AI," which allows for significant advancements in areas like enhanced data privacy, reduced latency for faster real-time responses, and improved power efficiency, leading to extended battery life for consumer and industrial devices.
Through this program, Qualcomm aims to accelerate the transition of promising AI prototypes into scalable, commercially viable products. The selected startups will undergo a comprehensive six-month mentorship phase, gaining unparalleled access to expert guidance, extensive technical resources, and specialized training facilitated through the Qualcomm AI Hub. They will also receive access to advanced hardware platforms such as Snapdragon® and Dragonwing™ products, alongside the innovative Arduino® UNO™ Q development board, along with product development support and patent application benefits. Startups successfully completing the program are eligible for grants of up to $10,000. This strategic investment not only strengthens the vibrant startup ecosystem in the APAC region but also catalyzes groundbreaking advancements in personalized user interfaces, efficient data processing, and immersive interactive experiences, thereby shaping the future of AI applications globally. The program is set to culminate in a Demo Day later this year, where these innovators will showcase their solutions to industry leaders and investors.
