Qualcomm Technologies is significantly advancing artificial intelligence development in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region through its dedicated AI Program for Innovators (QAIPI) 2026. The program, which recently garnered attention for its ongoing impact, is empowering 15 selected startups from Japan, Singapore, and South Korea to drive innovation in on-device AI. These innovative companies are developing cutting-edge AI solutions across various sectors, including smart healthcare, robotics, smart industry, and smart cities. The core focus of QAIPI 2026 is on 'on-device AI,' where AI processing occurs directly on a gadget rather than relying solely on cloud servers. This approach offers substantial benefits for consumers, such as enhanced data privacy, reduced latency for faster responses, and improved power efficiency, which translates to longer battery life for portable devices. Qualcomm provides comprehensive support to these startups, including equity-free mentorship from its subject matter experts, access to advanced hardware development platforms like Qualcomm Snapdragon® and Dragonwing™ products, and financial grants of up to US$10,000 upon successful program completion. Additionally, participants are eligible for patent filing incentives up to US$5,000, fostering intellectual property development.
