Sandalwood Film 'Common Man' Directed by Om Sai Prakash Sets September 25 Release

Veteran Kannada film director Om Sai Prakash’s 106th movie, titled 'Common Man', has finalized its grand theatrical release date for September 25, 2026. Featuring actor Gowrishankar SRG in the lead role alongside Shona Ladwa and Sabby Suri, the political and social drama explores what happens when an ordinary citizen unexpectedly steps into the Chief Minister's position to reform governance. The film’s grand audio launch event was held at The Ritz-Carlton in Bengaluru, attended by eminent public figures and Sandalwood personalities including Karnataka Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Umashree, Ramesh Bhat, Priyanka Upendra, and Vinod Prabhakar. Composed by Vinayy Chandraa, the music album features tracks rendered by Kailash Kher, Baba Sehgal, and Chaitra Achar, with lyricist Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad writing key tracks. Speaking about the film, lead actor Gowrishankar noted that 'Common Man' highlights the aspirations, struggles, and administrative hurdles encountered by everyday citizens seeking systemic change. Producer N. Narasimhamurthy, who also portrays the antagonist in the film, expressed confidence that the story's relatable socio-political themes will resonate strongly with audiences across Karnataka.
