AI Chip Startup Celero Communications Raises $275 Million at $3 Billion Valuation

Semiconductor and networking startup Celero Communications has raised $275 million in a Series C funding round that values the company at over $3 billion. The Irvine, California-based startup was backed by prominent investors, with the funding round co-led by Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, and CapitalG, the independent growth fund of Alphabet. Existing backers Sutter Hill Ventures and Maverick Silicon also participated, bringing Celero's total raised capital to $415 million. Celero specializes in advanced coherent digital signal processor (DSP) technology tailored for hyperscale artificial intelligence infrastructure. Alongside the funding announcement, the startup revealed the successful silicon validation of the industry's first 2-nanometer coherent DSP chip. This technological breakthrough provides high-bandwidth, low-power optical interconnectivity essential for connecting massive clusters of AI accelerators in next-generation cloud data centers. As enterprise demand for AI compute capacity rapidly accelerates, high-speed optical networking has emerged as a crucial technological bottleneck. Celero's specialized chips allow data centers to process and transmit massive volumes of information with greater power efficiency. The company plans to use the new capital to expand its research and development operations and prepare for commercial mass production.
