Indic Voice AI Startup Navana.ai Raises ₹40 Crore in Series A Funding

Bengaluru and Mumbai-based voice artificial intelligence startup Navana.ai has secured ₹40 crore (approximately $4.2 million) in a Series A funding round led by renowned investor and entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala. The funding round saw participation from prominent angel investors and venture capital firms, including Antler India, Neysa founder Sharad Sanghi, Sandeep Singhal, and Paula Mariwala. Co-founded by brothers Raoul Nanavati and Jai Nanavati, Navana.ai builds on-premise and privacy-compliant voice AI infrastructure specifically tailored for regulated enterprise environments. The startup's proprietary technology focuses on Indic language understanding, featuring speech models trained across 12 Indian languages and 45 regional dialects. These models are engineered to effectively navigate real-world audio challenges such as heavy background noise, overlapping speech, code-switching between languages, and regional accent variations. Navana.ai plans to deploy the fresh capital to deepen its presence within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. It aims to accelerate product development for its automated AI Contact Centre and evaluation platforms. To date, the company has processed more than 100 million voice AI minutes for major financial institutions including Bajaj Finserv, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Jana Small Finance Bank, and Grihum Housing Finance, automating key call center operations across sales, collections, and compliance. By enabling natural voice interaction in regional Indian languages, Navana.ai seeks to bridge the digital literacy divide for millions of non-English speaking citizens across India.
