Construction Supervisor Dies in Road Roller Accident on Bailhongal Bypass

A tragic accident occurred in Bailhongal town when a construction supervisor lost his life during work on the local bypass road project. The incident took place near the old bus stand along the state highway bypass connecting Hirebagewadi to Savadatti in Belagavi district. The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Panduranga Madhusudhan, a native of Basavana Bagewadi, who was working as a supervisor for Ashoka Construction Company, the firm executing the highway upgrade. According to police reports, the accident occurred when a heavy road roller stationed on a slope suddenly rolled backwards without warning. Panduranga, who was standing nearby overseeing the ongoing road work, was caught under the heavy machinery and died instantly at the scene. Emergency services and local law enforcement officers, including CPI Pramod Yeligar and PSI Vahid Yadavad, rushed to the spot upon receiving information to inspect the site and clear the roadway. Bailhongal Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain whether technical failure or human oversight caused the road roller to move unexpectedly.
