Gold and Copper Mining Exploration Launched at Lingadahalli in Devadurga Taluk

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka launched a major mineral exploration programme undertaken by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) at Lingadahalli village in Devadurga taluk, Raichur district. SCCL, a public sector mining enterprise jointly owned by the Telangana government and the Central government, secured the exploration rights for the 199.13-square-kilometre Devadurga gold and copper block through an open auction conducted by the Union Ministry of Mines. During his visit to the project site at Lingadahalli, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected the designated mineral exploration grounds and examined mineral samples gathered from the block. He instructed SCCL officials to expedite scientific exploration using advanced technologies to determine the exact quantity and quality of the underground gold and copper deposits. To ensure smooth ground operations, SCCL will establish a dedicated site office and a helipad in Devadurga taluk after obtaining land allocation from local revenue authorities. For residents of Devadurga taluk, this initiative represents a major economic development prospect. If the multi-year exploration yields substantial mineral deposits, subsequent mining operations could generate widespread employment opportunities for local youth, stimulate regional businesses, and accelerate civic infrastructure. SCCL is also exploring technical collaboration with the neighbouring state-owned Hutti Gold Mines to leverage regional expertise in extraction and refining.
