Karnataka Cabinet Approves ₹70 Crore Bridge Construction in Kagawada Taluk

In a major infrastructure boost for Belagavi district, the Karnataka Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has approved a financial estimate of ₹70 crore for the construction of a new bridge in Kagawada taluk. The decision was announced during the cabinet briefing following a high-level executive meeting in Bengaluru. The new bridge will be constructed along State Highway 290, connecting vital rural stretches including Aralihatti, Jakka, Jatkarahatti, Siddevadi, and Gaulagutta in Kagawada taluk. For local commuters and agricultural communities, the project addresses long-standing transportation challenges, especially during heavy monsoons when swollen streams and river overflows routinely disrupt vehicular traffic. The improved road link is expected to streamline the movement of heavy vehicles and agricultural transport, enabling sugarcane farmers in the region to transport their produce to nearby sugar mills without delay.
