Xiaomi Unveils Flagship 18 Fold Smartphone Powered by In-House XRing O3 Processor

At the IFA 2026 technology trade show in Berlin, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi showcased its latest flagship foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold. Moving away from tall and narrow designs, the Xiaomi 18 Fold adopts a wider passport-style form factor reminiscent of traditional notebooks. The device features a 5.38-inch outer cover screen and unfolds to reveal a 7.58-inch AMOLED primary display with a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. Beyond its physical design, the Xiaomi 18 Fold marks a significant technical milestone for the manufacturer as the first smartphone powered by Xiaomi’s in-house silicon, the XRing O3 processor. Built on a 3-nanometer architecture, the 10-core CPU paired with a 16-core GPU delivers top-tier performance while optimizing power efficiency. The smartphone is backed by a stacked 6,000mAh battery supporting 67W wired and 50W wireless charging, alongside a triple-camera system featuring a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with Leica optics. The introduction of the Xiaomi 18 Fold highlights the growing competition in the foldable hardware segment. While Xiaomi has launched the device in China starting at 10,999 yuan, international availability and European launch details are expected to be announced in the coming months.
