Karnataka Pushes Beyond Bengaluru Strategy with HDB Techceleration 2026 Summit in Hubballi

The Karnataka government has reiterated its commitment to decentralizing technology growth beyond Bengaluru by highlighting the Hubballi-Dharwad-Belagavi (HDB) region as an emerging corridor for advanced technology and manufacturing. Speaking at the 6th edition of 'HDB Techceleration 2026' in Hubballi, Karnataka Minister for IT-BT, Electronics, and e-Governance Priyank Kharge detailed the state's strategic targets to scale up the regional ecosystem over the next three to five years. Under the state's 'Beyond Bengaluru' framework, the government aims to attract 35 major companies, 5 Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) units, 10 Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and 100 startups to the HDB cluster. To support this vision, the state is backing regional ventures with a dedicated ₹25 crore Cluster Seed Fund alongside developing 2 lakh square feet of Global Capability Centre infrastructure in Belagavi and securing 224.5 acres for an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Kotur-Belur. Kharge emphasized that the three cities bring complementary strengths: Hubballi offers strong technology entrepreneurship, Dharwad possesses premier academic research institutions, and Belagavi provides an established engineering foundation. Organised by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), the summit brought together over 700 delegates, 100 startups, and 25 investors to foster regional innovation.
