New Civil and JMFC Court Inaugurated in Kalgi Town

In a major boost to legal infrastructure in Kalaburagi district, a new Civil Court and Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court was officially inaugurated in Kalgi town. The inaugural ceremony was led by Karnataka High Court Judge Justice Shivashankar Amarannavar, in the presence of members of the Kalgi Advocates Association and judicial officers. Addressing the gathering, Justice Amarannavar highlighted that the primary goal of the judiciary is to protect citizens' rights and ensure the timely delivery of justice. With the launch of the court in Kalgi, residents of the town and surrounding villages in Kalgi taluk will no longer have to travel long distances to courts in Sedam, Chitapur, or Kalaburagi city for case hearings and legal matters. The court is functioning temporarily from the Government Pre-University College building in Kalgi, an arrangement facilitated through the initiatives of former MLA Vishwanath Patil Hebbal. Additionally, donor Shivasharanappa Kamalapur has donated three acres of land in Kalgi town for constructing a permanent court complex. Local advocates and residents expressed gratitude for the facility, noting that it will significantly reduce travel expenses and simplify legal access across the taluk.
