Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled its groundbreaking intelligent eyewear at the recent Galaxy Unpacked event held in London on July 22, 2026. This innovative wearable represents a significant expansion of the Galaxy ecosystem, moving beyond traditional smartphones to offer a more integrated and hands-free AI experience in daily life. Developed in collaboration with Google, the eyewear runs on the Android XR platform and harnesses the power of the Gemini AI assistant, promising intuitive, contextual assistance directly in the user’s line of sight.
The intelligent eyewear, designed in partnership with renowned eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, emphasizes both technology and style. It features a lightweight and slim profile, ensuring comfort and durability for everyday wear, with a variety of frame styles and lens options to suit individual preferences. At its core, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 Platform, which optimizes AI performance for real-time interactions, connectivity, and power efficiency within its compact design.
Key functionalities of the eyewear include hands-free AI assistance for tasks such as summarizing long messages, reading out key information, offering live translation, and providing route guidance. Users can also leverage a built-in camera to capture visual context, aiding in smart note-taking by organizing information from whiteboards or discussions into Samsung Notes. The device further supports live visual sharing during calls and enables users to record their point of view. With a battery life of up to nine hours on a single charge and an additional seven charges from its case, the eyewear is built for extended use. Samsung has also addressed privacy concerns by incorporating an outward-facing LED light that signals when recording is active.
