Jamkhandi Family Protests Outside Tahsildar Office with Elder's Body Over Disputed Land Sale

High drama unfolded in Jamkhandi town of Bagalkote district when aggrieved family members staged a unique demonstration by bringing the mortal remains of 76-year-old Yellappa Vagennavar in front of the local Tahsildar office. The protest was triggered following the demise of the elderly resident of Avati Galli, who passed away after a prolonged illness, over intense domestic grievances regarding the equitable division of ancestral property. According to the protesting relatives, Yellappa had a son, Laxman, through his first marriage, along with five sons and a daughter through his second wife. The aggrieved kin claimed that repeated appeals to settle the property distribution fairly within the household had been ignored.
