Minister Rudrappa Lamani Launches Haveri District's First Praja Seva Abhiyana in Hangal

Textiles and Sugar Minister Rudrappa Lamani inaugurated Haveri district's first Praja Seva Abhiyana at the Sri Kumareshwara Viraktamath premises in Hangal. Addressing the gathering, Minister Lamani emphasized that public welfare is the primary duty of the government and public service must begin by directly resolving citizens' everyday grievances. He stated that common people should not be expected to travel long distances or visit Vidhana Soudha for basic administrative relief, which is why government services are being brought straight to rural and taluk levels. The inaugural program in Hangal saw significant participation from local leaders and administration officials. Local MLA and Karnataka Housing Board Chairperson Srinivas Mane noted that Praja Seva meetings will take place in every taluk on the first and third Saturdays of each month, before expanding further down to hoblis and village panchayats. Haveri Deputy Commissioner Vijay Mahantesh Danammanavar assured that public complaints will receive structured, timely responses, reducing administrative delays at local offices. For the residents of Hangal taluk, this initiative offers a direct channel to raise pending civic, agricultural, and administrative concerns with top officials under one roof. Local public representatives and district department heads attended the session to receive individual petitions, marking a constructive step toward transparent public governance across Haveri district.
