Public Service Drive Held in Koluru Village of Kurugodu Taluk to Address Rural Grievances

The Kurugodu taluk administration organized a public grievance redressal drive, titled 'Praja Seva Andolana', at the open-air theatre (Agasekatte Rangamandira) in Koluru village under Koluru hobli of Kurugodu taluk. The initiative was conducted under the Karnataka government's district-wide program aimed at bringing administration directly to rural citizens and resolving local public issues on the spot. Presided over by Kampli MLA J.N. Ganesh along with Kurugodu Tahsildar Narasappa and other taluk-level department officials, the camp saw active participation from local residents who submitted petitions regarding social security pensions, housing site allotments, drinking water supply, and civic infrastructure. During the program, an elderly resident of Koluru, Satyanarayana Shetty, expressed his hardship before the officials and requested an increase in his monthly pension from ₹800 to ₹1,200 as well as the allotment of a housing plot. Responding immediately, MLA J.N. Ganesh instructed Tahsildar Narasappa to expedite the pension revision and process the housing site allotment without delay. The initiative is part of weekly public grievance camps organized across hoblis in Ballari district. For the residents of Kurugodu taluk, especially in rural pockets like Koluru, such outreach drives ensure direct administrative intervention and faster resolution of long-pending civic issues without requiring frequent visits to taluk offices.
