TRAI Revamps 'MyCall' App to Enhance Voice Call Quality Feedback

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced the overhaul of its 'MyCall' mobile application, transforming how consumers can provide feedback on voice call quality across the nation. Launched on August 3, 2026, the updated app offers a user-friendly platform for subscribers to assess their calling experience immediately after a call or through the application interface itself. Key features include a simple 1-5 star rating system for calls and the ability to report specific issues such as call drops, echo, audio delays, cross-connections, and voice breaking. The app also introduces a coverage test feature to evaluate signal strength and supports multiple Indian languages through Bhashini. TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti emphasized that this citizen-centric digital platform is designed to strengthen consumer participation in monitoring telecom service quality. The feedback, collected voluntarily and in an anonymized form, will be shared with both TRAI and respective telecom service providers (TSPs). This data is crucial for TSPs to identify network deficiencies more quickly and implement targeted corrective measures, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and overall mobile communication experience. The revamped 'MyCall' app reinforces TRAI's commitment to a consumer-centric, transparent, and data-driven approach to improving the quality of telecom services, especially given that voice calling remains a fundamental service for India's over one billion subscribers.
