The High Court of Karnataka has set aside an externment order issued by the Belagavi Superintendent of Police against Chandrakant Shankar Vaddar, a resident of Nippani taluk. The court ruled that police superintendents do not hold statutory authority under the Karnataka Police Act to issue externment orders.
