Ballari Administration Grants Conditional Nod for BJP Rally at Municipal College Ground

The Ballari district administration has granted conditional permission to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to conduct its 'Ballari Chalo' rally finale on September 10 at the Government Pre-University College ground (Municipal High School ground) in Ballari city. The clearance came after an initial refusal by the Department of School Education (PU), which had cited a 2015 government order barring the use of educational institution premises for political or private functions. Following the initial rejection, BJP leaders, including MLA Gali Janardhana Reddy, party general secretary P. Rajiv, and district president Anil Kumar, met with Ballari Deputy Commissioner K. Nagendra Prasad to object to the decision. Party state president B. Y. Vijayendra warned that if a suitable venue was withheld, the gathering would proceed directly outside the Deputy Commissioner's office. Reviewing the situation, Deputy Commissioner K. Nagendra Prasad issued conditional permission detailing seven specific stipulations to maintain order. The organizers must ensure that the event does not disrupt public order, damage government property, or impede traffic movement. Loudspeaker usage is restricted to designated noise decibel limits and allowed hours, while flex banners and cut-outs must remain strictly inside the venue. The organizers will also be held legally and financially accountable for any damage to public infrastructure. For residents of Ballari city, the administration’s order aims to balance political activity with civic order and public safety. Traffic diversions and heightened police deployment are expected around the Municipal High School ground area on September 10 to manage crowd movement and prevent inconvenience to commuters.
