Mangaluru's St. Joseph Engineering College Athletes Win Medals at VTU State Cross Country Championship

The athletic teams from St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, Mangaluru, achieved major success at the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) State Level Cross Country Championship 2026. The two-day statewide competition was organized under the auspices of VTU at its Regional Office in Mysuru on September 7 and 8. Demonstrating outstanding endurance and team coordination, the SJEC men's cross-country team finished as the second runner-up in the overall team championship. The team members included Shashank S, Akshay Gabrieal R, Sathvik, Yogesh A C, Shreepathi Kulal, Gagan G Bajpe, and Hanamappa Dyavappa from various engineering streams. Meanwhile, the SJEC women's cross-country team also delivered an impressive performance, securing fourth place overall. The physical education department of the institution commended the student-athletes for their dedication and performance at the state level.
