The girls' athletic team of St. Joseph's Pre-University College, Hunasuru, achieved a major milestone by winning the overall championship at the taluk-level PU college sports competition held at the Hunasuru Taluk Stadium.
Student athletes from the college delivered standout performances across multiple track and field events. In track events, Hansapriya secured first place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints. Danuja bagged first position in the 3000-meter race, while Nalini finished second. Ashwini secured second place in the 1500-meter race, Asha finished third in the 800-meter event, and Sinchana claimed second place in the 400-meter race.
In field events, D. Ananya clinched third place in both Long Jump and High Jump, while Tanushree bagged third position in both Shot Put and Discus Throw. The college relay teams also demonstrated strong performance, taking first place in the 4x100-meter relay and second place in the 4x400-meter relay. The achievement highlights the growing athletic enthusiasm among youth in Hunasuru taluk.
